USA TODAY Joins Shoom, the Only On-Demand, Total Access, E-Tearsheet Network

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - November 27, 2006 - Shoom Inc. announced today that USA TODAY recently contracted for both its Shoom eTearSheets and Shoom eInvoices online services. USA TODAY, which is published by Gannett Co., Inc., is the nation's top-selling newspaper, with a total average daily circulation of 2.3 million worldwide.

Shoom eTearSheets’ on-demand network provides more than 300,000 advertisers and agencies with instantaneous searching capabilities of more than 100 titles. These advertisers can race through more than a million pages, going back as far as five years, from a single, highly secure Web site. Shoom will archive newspapers for 10 years. Shoom eInvoices works with the eTearSheets service to deliver invoices and statements over the Internet quickly, accurately, and securely.

“Shoom forecasts the number of titles in its network to grow to more than 1,000 in the next 12 to 18 months,” said Mike Lynch, Shoom’s executive vice president and general manager. “Imagine how taxing it would be for national advertisers to visit each title’s individually formatted e-tearsheet site separately to view their ads. Shoom, by design, provides a single access point for advertisers, agencies, and newspapers to search over multiple publications at once, and it’s free to advertisers and agencies.”

Other major U.S. newspapers in Shoom’s eTearSheets network include: The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch, The Denver Post, the Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, The Enquirer (Cincinnati), The Indianapolis Star, The Oakland Tribune, the Omaha World-Herald, The Plain Dealer (Cleveland), and the Rocky Mountain News (Denver). Shoom’s 100-plus newspaper titles also include virtually all major-city titles in Canada.

“These prestigious newspapers clearly understand the importance of using a common portal to provide their customers with total access to Shoom’s on-demand network of ad information in the public domain, thus making it easier for advertisers to do business with them,” said Lynch. “Both newspapers and advertisers are, in rapidly increasing numbers, experiencing the incomparable speed and functionality of Shoom eTearSheets, which provides extraordinary savings in man-hours, delivery fees, and storage space and increased productivity to everyone who uses it.”

William Freschi, CEO of Shoom, said, “We are extremely pleased to be selected as the e-tearsheet and e-invoice provider for USA TODAY, one of America’s most-recognized publications. It further demonstrates that Shoom has developed the easiest, least expensive, most reliable, and fastest way to bring these services to both publishers and advertisers. By eliminating physical tearsheets, both entities gain not only tremendous cost, time, and space savings, but also a rich research tool for those who want to monitor ad placements without sorting through thousands of paper tearsheets. By combining Shoom eInvoices with Shoom eTearSheets, users can process both billing and proof-of-publication tasks much more efficiently.”
